Rwanda Participated in the 7th Edition of the BGBS
The Indian State of West Bengal organized the 7th Edition of the Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS) on 21-22 November 2023, in Kolkata, the Capital City of West Bengal State.
Rwanda was represented by High Commissioner Jacqueline MUKANGIRA, Mr Rudra Chatterjee, Rwanda’s Honorary Consul in Kolkata, joined from Rwanda by Ms. Divine Nakanyange from Rwanda Development Board.
The 7th Bengal Global Business Summit had Plenary Sessions, Parallel Global Conferences, Sectoral sessions for focus sectors, Country sessions with partner countries, B2Bs and B2Gs meetings to expand networks and meet potential partners.
The High Commissioner of Rwanda and her delegation presented investment and tourism opportunities in Rwanda and made a warm call to Indian investors to come and invest in Rwanda. The call was received with enthusiasm and many promised to explore the opportunities in Rwanda.
Rwanda has participated to the 7th Edition of the BGBS with the status of Country member, joining a good number of other friendly countries.
In her remarks, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, Ms. Banerjee said that the Summit “was a true global event with about 5,000 delegates and 400 international delegates from 17 partner countries, business and official delegations from nearly 40 countries and 15 Ambassadors and High Commissioners taking part”.
Rwanda looks at Indian investors with keen interest as India is a fast-growing economy with a huge market of 1.4 billion people. The presence of Rwanda’s Honorary Consulate in Kolkata is an added value for the promotion of Rwanda’s conducive investment climate.
